I am running PT 2002 multiuser edition. When two users tried to preview or print invoice (each accessing different invoices.) PT does not allow the preview or print, stating ...another user/workstation is accesing co. area..etc..

This is a little weird..is this a bug? Does anyone have the same problem and know the fix ?

Thanks in advance.

We've many multiuser Peachtree clients but it never happen, can you tell us more how you install Peachtree in your network? The paths you set?

We're on a peer to peer, and followed instruction exactly as provided in the guide ie. install on main pc(MPC) >install on workstations and map datapath to MPC peachw folder. However, on a couple of workstations, I initially installed ptc as a standalone, and later changed datapath (pcw90.ini file) from local to MPC's path.

Does this error also say "the file may require single user access"? If so, the LCK files that are used to lock out other users in a DAT file may be lock in the on position. Have everyone exit Peachtree. Search the datapath for any '.lck' files (company.lck, vendor.lck, etc) and delete them. If you get a Windows error stating that some can't be deleted, reboot the server and delte the .lck files again. They will renew themselves when the company is accessed again through Peachtree.

This seems to be a locking problem. The record or the file is marked as locked, so others can't access. Sometimes, this is really the case people are using the record at the same time. Another possibility is, when one workstation running Peachtree crashes, then somehow the lock is not releaesd.

Is the network stable? Have you experience frequent crash so some records are locked? And, what exactly is the message?

Thank you both. Appreciate your help. Deleting .lck files works.
