Peachtree 2003 upgrade

I am considering upgrading to Peachtree 2003. (Have been getting promo in mail.) My question is this. I would like to talk to someone who can answer some questions for me before I take the plunge. I have been dis-satisfied with the telephone sales reps in the past, it seems they only want to make a sale, they don't really listen to my questions for give correct and intelligent answers.

How can I find out the answers to my questions before I go to the trouble and expense of changing over. I know I can try the program for 30 days and if I am not satisfied I can return it, but that doesn't help all the hours I will have wasted transferring data, trying to use the program. etc. if it doesn't work for us.

Any help in this area would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can always call Peachtree sales and tell them you want the information before purchasing the product. If you get a run around ask for a supervisor.

You could also post the questions here as some here may have been beta testers and the NDA is now expired since the product is now in release.

Peachtree has had trial kits for their past versions. You might want to wait until one is available for 2003.

Try to post some of the question in this forum and for sure you can get the answer from here rather than depend on Sales Support.

Thanks to all who replied to my question asking for someone who is knowledgable with the Peachtree 2003 softwear to contact me. I have various questions regarding the upgrade from Ptree version 7 which I am now using. But I understand from your replies, that you would prefer I ask specific questions so OK, here is a specific question.

Right now, we use DDE to transfer the data from our own custom written company program (written in Visual Basic 5) to the Peachtree Accounts Receivable. When a customer pays an invoice we transfer using DDE the information from Accounts Receivable back into our own program.

Does anyone know for sure if this area has been changed in Peachtree 2003 that would prevent our continuing the transfers as we are now doing?

I don't want to have to PAY a computer programmer to come in and re-write our custom program everytime Peachtree comes out with a new version. IF Peachtree as not changed the import / export area then I won't have a problem. I'd just like to know before I purchase. Anyone know the answer to this one?????????
