I am beginning to question choosing Peachtree for Windows over Quickbooks Pro because of the poor job cost features in Peachtree.
Does anyone have any opinions of the pros or cons of Quickbooks, in particular the job cost and payroll flexibility?

You may want to cross post your question at www.quickbooksusers.com. Personally, QuickBooks annoys me because they've gone to great lengths to distill the accounting out of the package. However, that's great for people that don't have an accounting background.

In my opinion QB is better for job cost and consruction.
QB's way it structures the customers and jobs is an advantage over PT. You set up a customer ,then you can set up
jobs as "children". The customer is a total of all the jobs . It can be grouped and regrouped at any time.
Pro has estimates and progress billing
geared for construction.
The items and reports in QB are more flexable than Pt It is easier to filter specific criteria.
The big problem is trying to get a simple
C/D or a normal B/R. Can't beat P/T's journal summary's. The filtering in QB's can get frustrating at times. The masking
of G/L accounts in PT is handy also.
Any other opinion's ?
