I live in Panama and most people here doesn't speak English. There is a huge need for a user's manual and/or tutorials for Peachtree Complete Accounting in Spanish. I had wrote a brief tutorial for my clients, but I have colleagues that are asking me to publish a more in-depth and detailed manual so their clients can buy it. I'm talking about writing the whole thing and adequating it to local practice, taxes and laws, not about translating the one that comes with the software.

Do I need an authorization from Peachtree Software to publish and market it?

I already sent them an e-mail asking this, but there has been no answer and if I am going to do this I have to start now that I have the chance to get some time off.

I would really appreciate the help.

Interesting...

I don't know about your question. I just wanted to suggest you to do it as international as posible (tax laws, ect.). Since, I could sell a couple of those here (and I'm sure you could sell a couple more in many other countries).

To what extent do you plan to publish the book?

You may want to contact Diane Koers (see the members list) directly since she is an author of "Peachtree for Dummies" so knows a bit about publishing a book about Peachtree.

Thanks Robert, but jag already did it and she told him that her publisher was the one taking care of this matters so she didn't know for sure how it works.

Anyway, I explained to him that I wasn't planning to print a book, but to use PDF format and use CDs or downloading to distribute it.

Besides, just a moment ago, I was talking about this to a friend who works for a company that use Peachtree, and found out that, apparently there's a manual in Spanish going around. He was going to ask about it in the main office and send me the information today.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thank you.
