View Full Version : AIA Software
We are currently using peachtree and would like to know if it is possible to interface AIA software with Peachtree. I know that Quickbooks does interface with AIA. If so, I would like directions in doing so.
Thank you for you time on this matter.

"AIA software" is a little too vague. I found many different things that matched that when I did a google search. Can you be specific about what product you are talking about?

In this context, AIA = American Institute of Architects.
Yes - American Institute of Architects is the name of the forms we use. I looked into the internet and noticed several software companies that have AIA software and it either interfaces with quickbooks or there own saftware. I would like to try to interface the AIA software with Peachtree.

Does the AIA software allow you to import and export the data that you want to work with? What's the name of one or two of the companies that have a QuickBooks product?
The company was Sunburst Software Solutions. I spoke with them yesterday and they interface quickbooks with AIA software. I believe it allows you to import and export information. We currently use excel and have to manually input the AIA's that we type up - too much room for error.

If you don't find any other solution, I have an idea for you to consider. As long as you can import into the AIA software, I can write a macro that will convert your Excel input into the required format for the AIA software. Indeed, you could input into Excel, then import into both Peachtree and the AIA software. Contact me directly if you're interested in pursuing this avenue.
Can you import excel data directly to Peachtree?

As long as it is a csv file and formatted correctly you can import it.

Yes, transactions can be imported into Peachtree from Excel. It's a fairly detailed process, so it's beneficial to have the importing process automated.
Would the process be detailed in the Peachtree manuals? Or is this something I would need our computer person to set up?

The process is detailed in the manuals and in the help files. I recommend doing some test import with the sample company to get familiar with the process. David Ringstrom is very good at import/export and has alot of great tips on his site as well. Always make a backup before each import though.
THANK YOU for all your help!!!!!!! I appreciate the information!
