I have a client that has multiple pc's running Peachtree Premium 2008. They rarely use it. They are an acccounting firm, and most of their clients use Quickbooks.

Recently, one of the computers died and had to be replaced. The name of the computer was THeresa. When I installed the new computer, I renamed it to the new users name. I re-installed Peachtree (in single user mode since they all work on different peachtree accounts, and they don't share).

The problem was - one of the other comptuers was tied to their pervasive database. So, now everytime I start up Peachtree on this second computer, it says "cannot connect to pervasive database on THERESA". I've been told that I have to uninstall and re-install to change the path. I have, and it still does it. I've uninstalled PEachtree, as well as Pervasive. I've reinstalled, and it still keeps looking for the computer renamed Theresa. I don't want to rename the computer, because I don't want to mess up HER Peachtree also. Maybe it won't, but with all the issues I've been having, I don't want to test it.

Any help would be Greatly appreciated.

Thank you -

Don't see that you ever got an answer - so if you still have the problem - look for the PVSC.Loc file in the local DB you're trying to use. If it's the problem we've seen before you can open this file with Word Pad and you'll see that it referes to the system name that it's trying to connect through. If all this is true - dlete this file & reopen Peachtree - the file will be recreated with the current /local system name
