Hi,
After finally getting a disc from PT that wasn't damaged, I have installed the Contact Manager but keep getting a "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" error message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I EVEN installed it on a different computer and got the same message. What do I do? Please help!!
Thanks,
Roberta

Had the same problem myself and PCM support had to send me a new .dll file but it has been so long I can't remember which file. Try contacting them is all I can recommend.

Hi and Thanks,
If you ever think of which .dll file that is, please let me know because I didn't purchase their support plan ($199.00) and they won't answer a single question without me paying!! Not even if I'd had trouble installing!! I'm sorry that I bought Peachtree Products!! If this is a known problem, shouldn't they post a fix on their website?
Roberta
When you get the illegal operation, you should have a 'details' button. Click it and tell us what the filenames are that are causing the error.

Act caused an invalid page fault in module MIT.dll at 017f:00c14992 then it goes on to give the registers #'s and stack dump #'s - lines and lines of them... Do you need all that or just the MIT.dll?
Anyway, hope this helps you help me.
Thanks,
Roberta
If it helps I'm running Win98 2nd Ed with 256k ram, 2 hard drives 30 gb each, 1 cd burner on Compaq Presario with a Pentium 800 mz processor. The box says it supports from Win95 up to WinXp which I plan to upgrade to next year. I have all the current updates for Win 98 and Peachtree Complete 2002!!

The more info you provide the merrier. :) Are you doing any specific when the error occurs, such as printing or synching data? MIT.dll is indeed a file created by the ACT! portion of PCM. It may either be corrupt, or another file in Windows is stepping on this file's memory space.

Hi,
No, I'm simply trying to open the program for the first time after finally getting the thing to install! I've tried opening it right after a re-start or re-boot and after shutting it off for several hours! I've tried it with PT open, closed, and I've tried it on several computers--installing and re-installing after the error messages!! I get the same error on 3 different computers-2 have 98SE and the other has XP home!!
I know you've got the magic answer so I can work on it over the weekend, right??
Roberta
If you installed on 3 different machines with different OSes and get the same error, either these machine have a piece of software that is conflicting with PCM, or the PCM is installing corrupt files.

Hi,
Ok, what does that mean? This is the 3rd disc they have sent me and I can't believe that different OSes on diff machines cause the same probs.
Do you think that Norton Systems Works or Anti Virus may conflict? That is the only program I have running in the background on my computers.
Any body, any suggestions, please help!!

That is easy to test, just disable Norton AV and see if the problem still occurs.
