Hi

I've made two Archived Copies of our Data this week and have not been able to open either of them.

I receive the following two errors:

File system error number: 100 in file: Z:\Peace\Archives\ARCHIV~2\AUDITTR.DAT; Click help for more information.

and

Peachtree Accounting: Peace Coffee - Archived 09/25/08: peachw.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x73465e3a" referenced memory at "0x08481f60". The memory could not be "read".

I've run a data verification with no errors:
-- BEGIN DATA ACCESS TEST[Sep 25, 2008 - 11:16 PM]
>> No errors found.
-- END DATA ACCESS TEST[Sep 25, 2008 - 11:16 PM]
-- BEGIN DATA RELIABILITY TEST[Sep 25, 2008 - 11:21 PM]
>> No errors found.
-- END DATA RELIABILITY TEST[Sep 26, 2008 - 5:34 AM]

We are trying to purge but want to create an up-to-date archived company first.

Any ideas on why the errors are there and how we can we get a good archived copy?

Thanks in advance.
Joe

Hey Joe - are you Peace Coffee in Minneapolis? Love your stuff!

Are you usting the actual archive function or making a backup to create an "archive" company?

What version of PT?

Here's all I could find in the knowledgebase that could possibly related:

>>When opening an Archived Co when the name is all special characters Peachtree crashes. File system error number: 100 in file: C:\Progra~1\Sageso~1\Peacht~1\ etc click here for more help. Call Peachtree Technical Support. Fatal File System Error, The exception unknown software exception.

In 2008, the company does not crash.

If the company name has alpha characters at the beginning of the special characters there is no crash.

Answer
There is currently no resolution for this issue. <<

Thanks Lisa

Removing the '-' in the archive name worked.

It's ironic that the default file name format that pops up when you are archiving doesn't appear to allow you to open up the file later.

We were running PT 2007 Premium for Distribution, Windows 2003 server and using the archive company function.

And oh yeah - are indeed 'that Peace Coffee.' :)
