Sales Order Invoicing Interface

I have been using Complete Accounting 2002 for about 5 months now without any problems. I have been inputting sales orders, then, once the order is shipped, I produce an invoice under Sales/Invoicing, calling up the corresponding sales order. While this sytem has been working fine for the past month, all of sudden, when I try to print the invoice, the program/computer slows down considerably, nearly freezing up. This occurs whether I am printing each invoice one at a time as I produce them, or if I print a series of invoices under "Reports." I have the impression that the data between Sales Order and Invoice are not communicating well when the program is trying to coordinate the data for printing.

Furthermore, the final invoice contains dropped letters and numbers. To be more specific, the "Ship To" name and address are missing the first letter or number from each line of the name and address. I have my company's phone and fax numbers placed at the top of the page, center to the right. The first digit of each line is missing. The Shipping Date and Due Date figures are each missing the first number.

My operating system is Windows 98. I have several gigabytes of memory available, so space can't be the problem. PT is installed on my harddrive, while the data is actually stored on the company's server. The server has plenty of memory available, also.

Two other computers on the server will reprint the invoice correctly and quickly, but my computer will not.

I would remove the print driver and then reinstall it. If two other computers are fine then it is going to be something specific to your computer. Have you had any new hardware or software installed recently?

Go to your printer manufacturers website and download the latest driver for your printer. Then go to start, settings, printers and delete the print driver shown there. If you get a message stating "some shared files were used with this driver do you wish to remove?" or a message similar, select yes. Then install the print driver that you downloaded. If the printer is a network printer then have your IS person do it or walk you through it.
