Using User Maintained Taxes I've set up NJ ER SUI and it calculates correctly. I set up the employee deduction exactly the same way but with EE and it will not calculate the deduction from the employee check. Please check the following and see what I'm doing wrong.

TAX TABLE:
NJSUIEE
NJSUI EE 08
state=NJ All Statuses Deduction
LIMIT = 27700.;
PERCENT = .0425;
TAXABLE_GROSS = YTD_LIMIT (ADJUSTED_GROSS, LIMIT);
ANSWER = -TAXABLE_GROSS * PERCENT%

In maintain Employee Defaults,
General Tab:
State - NJ
EmployEE Paid State Taxes - Unemp
EmployEE Fields Tab:
Unemp
NJSUI EE

Thanks,
Sharon

Hi Sharon,
I think everything you did so far is fine, but I think you missed a step. In Maintain, Default information, Employees, go to the EmployEE tab. In the Fields column, you should see SUI (you can add it if it is not there). Select a G/L account, check the calculate box, and use the pulldown menu in the TaxName field to select the name you chose (NJSUIEE).
Now if you generate a paycheck, you should see the EE deduction for SUI.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for responding Liz. I was able to get help & everything got fixed. It was something that PT should have been doing - a check mark that the deduction was calculated on the gross.

Regardless of signs of economic improvement, many job seekers are still having a difficult time finding work. Many also are seeing their meager savings blow away. Although there is no compensation for finding constant work, the Internal Revenue Service is permitting a gaggle of deductions for out-of-work job seekers; write offs that the employed cannot take. Tax deductions for the unemployed. (https://personalmoneynetwork.com/short-term-loans/)
