"Warning: period changed to 1 due to unposted journal entries there" is what I got when I tried to switch from period 2 to period 3. Few days prior to this problem, I runned the Integrity Check & I got "File system error number: 10 in file: c:\PEACHW\BAK2\SORTJOB.DAT;"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the release number you are using (go to help, about peachtree acounting) If it does not show a release number then what is the release and batch you are on?

FSE 10 from a Btrieve stand point means that what you were trying to modify was set to not be modifiable.

Also, the sortjob file can be deleted with Peachtree closed and allowed to recreate when you open the company back up.

Definitely delete the sortjob and rebuild it as Wolf mentioned. Any errors during an IC usually call for a restore, but the sortjob can be deleted and rebuilt. Not many dat files can do this so the is a special consideration.

Also, to fix your changing periods problem, go to Maintain, Company Info. Change your posting method to batch. Go to Tasks, System, Post, then post All Journals. Once this is done, change back to Real-time from Batch and then change accounting periods. This methods fixes this prob 99.9% of the time.
