Do I have to upgrade from Peachtree 2006?

I am looking for some advice. We are a small company, currently running Peachtree 2006 for Distribution - Multi-User, on 3 workstations. All 3 workstations are running on Windows 2000. I wanted to upgrade to 2009, but this would require updating the operating systems on all 3 workstations, with the accociated problems. I thought I could just keep using PT 2006, but I just found out that Peachtree Direct Deposit and Credit Card Processing Service won't work with PT 2006 after December 31st. I'm thinking of upgrading to PT 2008 for Distribution Multi-User, as this will work with our current operating systems. Does anyone have any advice for our situation, and are there any reasons I shoudn't upgrade to PT 2008?

I hope not, but I look forward to answers from the experts. PT 2006 does what we need, and it sounds as if the later versions have had a lot of issues. The problems in 2006 that I have investigated so far have not been fixed in the later versions.
