Hello,
Just upgraded from Complete accounting version 5 to 2002. Have done a full rebuild/integrity/purge and still have MAJOR performance problems since the upgrade. Environment is 166 MHZ Pentium II workstations, 64MB ram, connected 100 baseT to an NT Server. Server performance seems great....however simple tasks now take forever since the upgrade, i.e.; opening a Past Purchase order can take over a minute...with the screen 'half drawn' until it appears. Invoicing and other tasks seem to respond just fine.

The JournalHdr is 12682K and the JrnlRow is 25268K. Total company file size is shown as 10826K, per the "File Statistics".

Has ANYONE experirenced this type of degradation...is ther a fix...or something I should be looking at?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Is that grandtotal you posted missing a number from the end?

Are you using a hub or a switch?

When you did a rebuild did you just do lists and then enter beginning balances by hand?

What are your specs on the server? How much RAM what type of processor?

2002 requires alot more from your hardware so you are going to see some performance decrease on large datasets such as yours.

Just my opinion: Pentium II 166 Mhz machines are a bit long in the tooth these days. Personally, I no longer try to mix new software with old hardware. With that said, at least consider doubling the RAM to 128 MB. Regardless, I recommend upgrading the workstations to something more current.
