company data lost

My company data in Peachtree Complete Accounting no longer shows up as a company I can open? I have a backup from 30 days ago but would like to find out where my most current data is. Only the two sample companies Peachtree provides are available to open and my company is no longer show as an option to open. Any suggestions (geeessjr@wi.rr.com)

Search your drive for any Company.dat files. Then look at the folder names where each file is found to see what company is is. It will also turn up any sample companies you have on your drive.

If you find the missing company you should be able to open it by starting PT and going to File - Open Company and looking at the folder just above the missing company folder.

Thanks for the last suggestion. I have found company data for the two "training" companies provided by PT, but my company is not there. Looks like I will need to go to my one month old back up unless someone has a suggestion how I might locate the missing company file.
