i/o error when scrolling thru customers

when scrolling through customers on either invoice or receipts forms, i get "I/O ERROR READING CUSTOMER.DAT" dialog box. when i click help, nothing happens, when i click ok, i get gpf and program closes. any ideas? thx

This generally means that your customer.dat data file is corrupted. If you can't revert to a recent back up, try using the Repair Company function in Peachtree. If you're not familiar with this, the archives of this forum offer guidance.
