I have Peachtree 2002 and can print to my Epson LQ570+ ESC/P2 printer just fine for everything except checks. On certain passes, the printer prints off to the right about 1/2 inch. A lot of the other epson drivers will not do this, but most of them need bigger margins, and I then cannot fit the whole check on the page, as far as the with is concerned.

The way that I resolved this recently was to convince the user to switch to laser checks. I tried unsuccessfully at length to resolve check printing on a dot matrix printer. I know it doesn't answer your question, but I thought I would share my experience.

Good luck!

Hmmm. Sounds like you may have a non-standard sized check? Check out Answer ID 352 in the Peachtree Knowledge Base at peachtree.com. it is instructions in PDF format for setting up custom-size forms within your printer driver to print 7" checks on a dot-matrix printer. May give you ideas of what is creating the problem.

JAK118 asked outside the forum:

"How do laser checks work? With the dot-matrix printer, you get the carbon copy."

Laser checks have two stubs. You keep the bottom stub for your records, then mail the top stub along with the check to the vendor. I've found only one instance where a client needed to continue using dot-matrix checks...this is a restaurant where the managers often hand write checks, and so the bookkeeper needs to see a copy. Otherwise, if the check is generated from within Peachtree, I personally see no need to maintain carbon copies. You get the original back from the bank, or can request it when needed. Peachtree offers an array of reports that allow you to see what was paid. If you need to track who actually signed the check, have the signer initial the check stub that you retain on file.

Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.
