Assigning jobs to payroll

I can't access that field that will allow me to assign jobs to payroll expenses. The field has "none" in it, but will not allow me to enter a job. How can I change this

Have you established job IDs via the Maintain, Jobs menu yet?

Yes I have. I use job IDs to track all other expenses.

Are you posting hours or dollars to the payroll transaction before you attempt to assign the jobs? It's a little quirky.

Thanks. I figured out that I have to add a new row to post jobs. Seems like "the long way home" to me.
