Close Fiscal Year [Archive] - Peachtree Forums

When closing the fiscal year, it takes about 15min to get to 29% then it stalls. I can hear the harddrive grinding after that, but it doesn't continue . I have let it by four days. Peachtree 2002. The computer is a Pentium III with 128MB RAM. The company run locally in the hard drive with 5GB of free space.

It sounds like your Peachtree company may be corrupted. I'd run the Repair function, then try the fiscal year close again. The archives of this forum explain how to run Repair Company.

I already ran Repair Company and when trying to close year it keeps hanging on 29%. What else can I do?

I'm out of ideas, personally. Worst case, you may have to rebuild the company, but perhaps someone else will weigh in with some guidance. I feel like there's some sort of underlying data corruption that's causing it to hang.

I solved my problem by rebuilding the company and then closing the year.

The online help files for Peachtree offer guidance. If you tackle this on your own, be sure to make a separate back up after each and every import. It's easy to make a mistake toward the end, then if you haven't backed up after each import, you have to start from ground zero.

Go to your help files, select Index and type "rebuild". Make sure to do a backup between each import.

I want to know close the fiscal year, 1999-2001
Each two year close the fiscal year, but i don't know how to close?
Becoz i already to back up the file,
I tried to click " close year end wizard"
after this box shows
1,payroll & tax fiscal year
2,"Hide "close the fiscal year
etc......
i click the "next " buttons, it shows, "backup" buttons
i repeat to "back up" accounting file, after click " next"
after " loading" after " shows that finish" buttons
the procedure are finished, i click the general ledger, but i look the information, the 1999-2001 information don't close the year end... and then, the beginning bal same as last year 2000,
is not year 2002 31 Mar Balance.
So i don't know how to close the year end account?
Can u teach me? Thank you very much!

The University’s fiscal year end close calendar and time table will be listed on the UI Accounting Services web site. Listed below are additional guidelines and estimated dates for closing for CLAS departments. CLAS accountants will be working with departmental administrators to review accounts in March & April. All request for additional carryover +-5% needs approval and foundation accounts should be reviewed to see if any funds need to be divested before year end.In May & June departments should be reviewing Purchasing, travel and HR transactions that need to be processed before year end.
