Is it possible to copy PT updates from one computer and put them on another computer and they will update the 2nd computers PT?
I have been running PT2006 on an old computer and have updates SR1 thru SR5 in the common files. I have begun using a new computer with a new PT2006 that has none of the updates and would like to bring it up to date. Both softwares and legal and registered.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Copy SR5 to the new computer and execute it (double click on the file itself) from the location that you paste it to. SR5 includes all prior SR updates for the Peachtree version that it was designed for. You can copy the file to a USB Thumb Drive / Flash drive or other media, or across a network if available.

Rick, thanks for your input. I finally found something to allow my system to update with SR5. Evidently sp3 of XP put some security measures that thinks some installations of software and hardware. I was also having problems with installations of my scanner on my new XP system. I tried the following and did the installations and SR5 has installed properly and scanner installed without a hitch. Hope the following will be helpful to someone else in the future.
Click Start and then click Run . The Run window opens.
In the Open: box, type msconfig , and then click OK . The MSCONFIG utility window opens.
Click the Startup tab.
Click Disable All to disable any application that loads when the computer starts up.
Click the Services tab. Place a check mark in the Hide All Microsoft Services box.
Click the Disable All button.
Click OK .
Click Restart to apply the changes to the computer during the next restart.
Restart the computer.
After the computer is rebooted you will get a message box referring to the system configuration utility, click the check box next to Do not show this message again .
When you’re done after install….
Click Start and then click Run . The Run window opens.
In the Open: box, type MSCONFIG and then click OK to start the MSCONFIG utility.
If you want to disable some of the Startup items and non-Microsoft services, leave the programs unchecked that you want to disable and check the boxes for rest of the programs.
If you don’t want to make any changes to Startup Programs and Services, click the General tab and select Normal Startup to automatically enable all features the next time the computer is started.
Click Apply and then click Close .
Click Restart to apply the changes the next time the computer is started.
Thanks for your assitance
