I can go for months and months and all is well. Then all of a sudden, out of nowhere comes a problem that has no beginning and no understanding. I do payroll bi-weekly. Two weeks ago all was well. Today I went to do payroll and 6 of the 40 checks I wrote have FIT withholding 3x the amount it's supposed to deduct. There's no rhyme or reason. Not all employees with a certain deduction. 1 is married, 3 are single but with 0,1 & 2 deductions. Nothing has changed. I was doing some changes last week to withhold a state tax never before deducted but if that was the problem, everyone would have the problem. I tried to re-enter the employee as a new employee and the same withholding occurred. I tried to reinstall the tax update - no luck. My backup from last night has the error on it. Has anyone had this type of problem? I guess I will have to manually enter the FIT deduct for those employees and watch very carefully. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
