I need a user of 2009 Payroll in Oregon to give me the formulas for the SDI and the ORSSA deductions. I contacted Peachtree support and was told they didn't know, only knew deductions for Georgia. We downloaded - after MUCH trouble - the payroll taxes, and these two are not there.

I checked my Peachtree Tax Service - Peachtree Maintained and found the following Tax Record for Oregon. Below is a copy of the Formula ID which you should have in your downloaded Tax Service 20090401 or 20090402 (see Help - About Peacthree Accounting).
Formula ID - ORSSA 19
Name - ORSSA ER 09
"This table is for theTri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Excise Tax and
is imposed on employers having payroll within the district encompassing
Washington, Clackamas and Multnomah counties."
PERCENT=.6718;
ANSWER = -ADJUSTED_GROSS * PERCENT%
I did not find any listing for ORSDI 09. Maybe this a user maintained formula as is ORSUI9 State Unemployment ID - Year 2009?

The Oregon SDI (worker's benefit fund assessment) is equal to 1.4 cents per hour, paid by both employer and employee, however both my company owners are exempt from being taxed themselves, so this would just apply to the employee and company contribution. Please, tell me how to write that formula. I have no problem in maintaing formulas or tax tables once I know what they are!
The other formula that the program keeps insisting we need is ORSSA. I have been doing payroll in Oregon for 25 years now. I have never heard of such a tax. Is there any way to just delete this or dummy up a formula for it?
My owners are getting kind of miffed - I have used Peachtree for many years for my home business, and they switched over to it for covenience. It would have been great except for the payroll aspect...

I listed the formula in my prior post for the OR SSA tax.

Rick, sorry I missed the SSA - because we are in Josephine County, we are not subject to those taxes. How do I get around them??

Well, now my replies are getting lost too.
I still need to know how to stop the program from asking for ORSSA tax tables because we are not subject to those taxes here in Josephine County.
I still need to verify that a formula I found in another thread will work for SDI.
Formula: ANSWER=-(REGULAR+OVERTIME)*.014
Will this calculate the SDI tax of 14 cents per hour worked????
And, since I am having to work on this at home on a different computer than at work, I don't have the downloaded tax tables at home. I just want to check the above formula, but the program is insisting on a tax registration number. I input the tax registration number from the computer at work, and it says it needs a VALID one. The website stays blank when I try to pull it up. So I thought I'd try to check the formula out in the sample company. Added it just fine, though it would only take the company side of SDI, but when I went to try and 'cut' a check out of the sample company it said the SDI table I had just put in needed updating. So it's there, but why won't it work????
I don't understand why we are having to put in so many hours just to cut 5 paychecks!!!
Please, help
