Hello all,

I just upgraded my Peachtree 2007 multi-user to version 2009. After having a number of issues with the initial upgrade, I finally am able to access my Peachtree files properly.

However, I noticed that the software has up to SR4 update out now. I attempted to bring everything up to date. I downloaded the update on the server to the desktop, and ran the .exe file. However, the update goes through two screens where it looks like it is extracting files and then just hangs. My impression is that it is having trouble due to the multiple problems I had with the initial upgrade. So, I was wondering if someone could verify my .ini file for me to make sure that all the paths are correct now. Also, up for any recommendations that anyone might have also.

First step is to install the SR4 update on the server or host computer. If a workstation fails to complete the installation as you have describe, then there is a confilict with another program running (typically security software). So, copy the SR4 update file to the local drive and then reboot the computer into the Windows SAFE MODE with Networking (press F8 during re-boot) and then execute the SR4 update file. When finished, reboot the computer into normal mode.

The SR4 update is double packed, not sure why sage did this. Sometimes the Microsoft installer will not open it completely. Download winrar extraction tool. Once winrar is installed use it to extract the file, you will need to set it to open file types of all. Then inside the extraction folder you will see another SR4 update file, and this is the one you should double click on. You may need to roll your version back to get it to install if the program or reg keys show it at SR4 already. Search this forum for how to roll an update back.

Using winrar has worked on the 50 or more of this issue I have run into.

Thanks Tom. I'll give that a whirl.
