Slow Form Retrieval 2002

We converted to 2002 (Version 9) from Version 8. Whenever Ver 9 needs to retrieve any custom forms, i.e., invoices etc it takes a unacceptable length of time to retrieve the forms- 10 to 12 seconds. This gets to be very frustrating when that is accessed several times a day by 3 to 5 different users. This is not even accessing data - just retrieving the forms from the network - anyone have any suggestions. If it matters, using NT server and workstations range from P2's to P3's but performance in other areas seem ok.

We are experiencing the exact same problem, inspite of the fact that we are using very high end and fully loaded machines, including a Windows 2000 server and workstations with Pentium 4 CPUs.

Do you have any type of virus scanning software that is doing an active scan of that directory every time a file is opened? It has to be something environmental as both networks I was at today pulled them up rather quickly.
