View Full Version : Not Valid Peachtree company

My company was using Peachtree Release 8.02.044 and we recently purchased a copy of Version 9.0. After installing the V9 and converting the data, we found that it was a single user version.

I retored the Release 8.02.044 backup and went back to using the 8.02.044.

Some of our staff cannot open the company file and receive the error message:

"This is not a valid peachtree company".

Some users, including myself, can get full access to the company data, while others can't even get access to the log on screen.

I tried to uninstall the release 8.0 for the affected users and re-install/update it 8.02.044. Same error message came up. I tried a new installation for a new user and he also got the same error message.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

It's truly bizarre that certain users can access the company and others can't. That brings into question the data path. For starters, I'd double-check each user's PCW80.INI file to make sure the data path is n:\PEACHW, where n: is the network drive letter.

You can access the PCW80.INI file by clicking Start, Run, then typing the file name and pressing Enter.
