I asked these questions on the Dos forum . I'd also like to ask them on this side .
1)What are the pro's and con's of the Dos 11 version versus Complete 9?
2) Does anyone know if Best is going to continue upgrading and supporting the Dos version?
3) What exactly does the conversion software that PT has convert from Dos 11
to Windows 9 ? How easy is it to use? Any help will be appreciated

Quick sketch: Compared to the Windows version, the DOS program is very restrictive...you can't go back in time to edit transactions or easily review prior periods. Reports are painful to get into Excel. You can't work in more than one module at a time in the DOS version. However, my sense is that the DOS version may be able to handle larger volumes of transactions.

I have no idea about the future of the DOS line, but my speculation is that DOS programs in general are on borrowed time.

The conversion utility transfers lists and balances, but no transactions. It's not easy to use, but it's also not too hard if you follow the directions carefully.

Hope this helps. If you're considering making the switch, get a trial version from www.peachtree.com before you leap.

The next version of Peachtree Classic (formely DOS) v13 will be releasing it very soon. That might tell you something.

I agree with David that nearly all DOS programs are in borrowed time.

The fate of Peachtree Classic??? I really don't know... I'm not sure that everyone fits on PCAW and MAS90 is a really big jump.

Best has a mid range package that they would like to get their Classic customers into called, Businessworks. The price points are not quite as high as their high end product MAS and it has the modular structure of Classic. It is also one the options that they are pushing to their P2K customers.

I like you guys have no idea what the fate of Classsic is and there is not very much conversation on the grapevine right now.
