View Full Version : How do I reset the default window position?

I have multiple monitors and sometimes have changed around their positions relative to each other using the Windows display property controls. What seems to have happened with Peachtree, is that when I click on something that opens up in a new window, the window shows up as an entry in the taskbar, but doesn't show up on either of my screens. I can right click on the taskbar and select Maximize and it shows up maximized, but as soon as I try to make the window smaller so I can view it along with some other document (word, PDF, whatever), it disappears again! I suspect that there is some setting that sets the default window positions that is somehow making these windows appear outside of my working desktop, but I can't find a .ini file. Any idea on how to reset the default window positions?

Thanks

AndrewY

This response is late but someone else may be able to use this resolution.

Make a backup of your registry.
In Regedit, browse to this Key- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Peachtree\YOUR PEACHTREE FLAVOR\VERSION NUMBER (ex. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Peachtree\Peachtree Quantum Accountants' Edition\17)
Delete the Positions folder. Doing so will reset all of your Peachtree windows to default.
If you've never edited a Windows registry, you might want to get an IT geek to do this. Deleting the Positions folder is harmless, but Deleting the wrong folder in the registry can screw up your Windows installation.

Take care.
