Changing accounting periods; current year 2000????

I have just noticed when I went to change the accounting system to the next month it says at the bottom of the information my current calendar year is 2000? How could that be when I only have July 2001-June 2003 open, the 2 years that can be opened?

That is refering to payroll. If you don't use payroll then I don't think it matters.
