We are running PCA ver 11 for Dos. We just bought a parallel port 250mb zip drive to use for backup. When we go to utilities, and change the default to the zipdrive drive letter; it reverts back to a:. We can back up to the server on another machine without any problem, but this machine isn't connected to the server. We are using guest.exe to load the dos software for the zip drive. Can anyone please help? Thanks.

Install the Guest program for windows... then...

Just right click on the drive (ZIP) and make it Non-Removable... when you finish your backup you need to change it back again.

We are running this computer in a strictly Dos machine. No windows.

Uhhh....

I haven't done this with a DOS computer (in fact... the last time I saw one was a long time ago). Maybe there's some switch in the guest dos version to acomplish that.

Shot in the dark...

Try running this command

SUBST F: G:

where F: is any valid drive (that you are not using)
and G: is the drive letter of your ZIP drive.

Then try to backup to the F: drive (or the one that you selected).
