Io Errors

This errors has frequently appear in our peachtree system

io errors in audittr.dat.....

io errors in charts.dat.......

We cannot recover our data and have to restore the previous backup.

Anybody have the same problem. Please help

We are using Peachtree Complete Accounting 8.00 (Multi User version)

I have seen this happen several times if repair company does not work then you need to consider having your data repaired.

If you are getting frequent i/o errors you almost certainly have a hardware or system problem. Peachtree itself does not produce i/o errors, only the underpinnings on which it stands - Btrieve and Windows - do.

You will probably want to search for previous threads on this problem since the solution has been discussed many times, but here is a quick summary of things to look for:

1. Mismatched brands of network cards.

2. Faulty cables, especially at 100BaseT.

3. Flaky network hubs or switches.

4. Badly fragmented server.

5. Running a non-professional version of Windows such as 98, ME, or XP-Home.

You may want to also have your data professionally checked
since there may already be some damage in your backup that
is creating further problems.
