Deleting accounts

I tried to delete account that has zero balance but the message was "this account cannot be deleted because it is used on a customer" i did check all the setup of the customers and there was no record of customer that use the account that i am going to delete....is there any methods on how to delete it. really appreciate if you could be of help.

You can try printing a General Ledger filtering by date and by Account ID. You can print a Customer List, selecting from the COLUMNS option to show only the Customer ID and the default Sales Account. You can check the Maintain - Defaults - Customers (all tabs) to see if the GL Account is listed in this area.

Finally, you can INACTIVATE the GL Account and then go to OPTIONS - GLOBAL and check mark the option - HIDE INACTIVES.
