I am a new user, and our sales tax rate just went up. How can I assign the new rate to all my customers without editing each one of them?

Change the Sales Tax Rates in the Maintain Sale Tax tables.

I have Peachtree 2005 and made a new sales tax rate, but the invoices are still showing the old rate. I dont want to change all my invoices, only the ones starting today!

When a sales tax rate changes, it is best to edit the sales tax code you already have set up. It won't affect existing invoices, only new ones that you enter.

The problem with creating a new sales tax code is that your customers probably all have a sales tax code assigned to them in Maintain - Customers. So the old code will continue to be used unless you change every customers record.

how will changing the sales tax code affect my report this month when I need to submit what was collected at the old rate for payment?

The taxable sales and exempt sales amounts will be unaffected, but the Taxable/Exempt Sales Report caclulates the Tax Amount based on the rate that is currently set, instead of reporting the amount of tax that was actually on the invoice. So if you can't print the report before you change the tax rate, you will have to change the rate back temporarily when you are ready. Just make sure nobody enters any invoices until you get the rate back to the current value.
