need help repairing General Error Module 4

See the "Data Damaged" link at the top of the page. Module Error 4 is a very common kind of corruption and your GENERAL.DAT file can be recovered completely.

I have seen Peachtree's solution work in many cases in the event that it does not, Bob is correct, you will need to have your data repaired. See link above.
