I am working with PCAW2009 at present and will like to select inventory items by description, as an example, which of the versions and tools you recommend me?

Peachtree allows you to perform a look up by Item ID. You can optionally list the Inventory Items with a drop down listing (Options -Global -General) where you can then sort by DESCRIPTION. You can optionally use the Item ID to describe the Item. The Item ID field is a 20 character alpha numeric field that permits the use of spaces.
