View Full Version : Unable to access User Security

I'm running PPA 2010 for Distribution multi-user on a single XP Pro SP3 machine. It is an update from earlier versions and I am the only user with one company.

During the update process I had to reset my password to conform to the stronger requirements. On starting the program I have no problems logging in and have been using it for months.

However the Set Up Security menu item under Maintain /Users is grayed out and the system does not recognize me as the administrator I cannot run Crystal Reports or add users.

I've checked (fixed) the datapath, and I've "cleared licenses", but it still requires my log in name & password to open the company, and I still cannot access security settings.

Any suggestions out there?

Your description suggests that you are not setup as an ADMINISTRATOR and as such, you cannot access User Security. There are Password Recover Utilty programs available. Check with the host of these forums.

Once you have access to User Security, you can change the settings for Crystal Reports which is by default set to NO ONE, hence your problems in this area.
