Hello folks. I have a question. Please keep in mind when answering that I'm not a programmer or an accountant, just a simple production manager who's found himself in over his head. We recently switched to Peachtree Quantum 2009 to run our business. It works pretty welll, but I'm having a problem with using different units of measure. I buy rolls of wire to make cable assemblies. It comes in 1000 foot rolls, but I sell it in inches. I understand about creating a unit for the 1000 foot roll by using the "number of stocking units" set at 12000 (1000 foot roll x 12 inches =12000 inches). I then make a purchase order for 1 roll, then recieve that roll, and it puts 12000 units on inventory. My question is this... how do I set it to sell this wire in one inch increments? In other words, lets say I buy a 1000 foot roll, but I want to cut 6 inches off it to sell to a customer. I can get it to reduce the inventory count by six, but it doesn't apply the cost correctly. All the examples in the help menu talks about multipacks and all that, and see how to get it to let me by 1000 feet and then sell 500 at once, but how to i get it to let me sell 1 at a time? Thanks.
