I have had some network issues and have reinstalled peachtree on my computers. I installed the one with the company data first. I then mapped a network drive from the workstations to the peachtree directory. I can access the peachtree and company directory with windows explorer from the workstations and I can create and save files to them.
The problem is, when I try to open the company with peachtree, it does not show up in the list to open. It opens on the original computer fine. However, it doesn't even show up in the list to open on the workstations.
All computers are using XP Professional.

umm... don't you have to do <File> <Open Company> then select the mapped drive AND then the folder you have Peachtree installed in... Peachtree will look at the data there and then give you the option to open that company.
We get a similar thing if we try to log in to Peachtree while a backup is running... we have to go through all that gobbledygook.
Hopefully this is what you're looking for.
Good luck.

The data is there but the company name does not show up on the workstations.

Have you enabled full rights (read/write) to the datapath in the local machine? So that remote machine can read and write!

I can access the peachtree and company directory with windows explorer from the workstations and I can create and save files to them.
The only way I can get this to work is to put the data files in a Shared Documents folder.

with 2007 and newer, you must identify the datapath using the installation program, you have notindicated which version you are using and that you installed correctly

So your reply indicates a Sharing Rights Problem.
Select the root of the datapath in windows explorer "C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Name Folder"\My Documents\Sage Software\Peachtree"
Right Click --> Select Sharing & Security --> Check "Share this folder on the network" and "Allow network users to change my files" --> Apply --> Ok.
