Aloha, all. It is time for me to upgrade from Complete Accounting 2005 to at least 2006 (to integrate with my quote software). 2006-2009 are cheap enough on ebay, so what is the best year to choose with least amount of problems? thanks

the newest. I tell my customers 2010, but i didnt see that as one of your choices, so i would say 2009.

If you are on a peer-to-peer network, don't upgrade. We have experienced slow performance using 2008 and now with 2010. The change to Pervasive makes things run so slow it is rediculous. I like the new features in Peachtree, but I don't like paying employees to sit and wait while a customer is on the phone. Sage tries to get users to upgrade to Quantum, but from what I've seen it isn't going to help. I think my next upgrade will be to another product.

Peachtree 2010 runs well on a Windows XP computer that has 1GB or more of RAM memory. When installed on Windows Vista or Win7, you want a minimum of 2GB of Ram. Further, it is recommended to disable IPv6 in favor of IPv4 to improve performance. Do not install Peachtree 2007 - 2010 (32bit application)on any Windows 64bit OS (workstation or Server). Peachtree will install but there are a number of little agravations including general performance that will be experienced due to the apparent mis-match.

I am not sure what your issue is, but certainly changing from btrieve to pervasive did not slow the product performance. If peachtree is recommending that you use Quantum, the number of transactions, or invoices that you generate must be quite larger than the normal peachtree customer. Quantum is made for customers that have larger numbers of transactions, or a new for more than 5 users. Certainly as Peabhtree adds features each year, operating systems add features, and more memory is needed to run Peachtree. For example, 2007 used to rn on 256 mb of memory, 2008 started asking for 512 mb, and 2010 is looking for a gb. If you are rnning a network, the workstation that has the data should have more memory with xp, 2gb or more with server 2003, or Vista. I inderstand you may not want to use Peachtree, but you haven't really said why.

We had speed issues with 2008. The only machine that ran at a reasonable speed was the one with the data on a local drive. For us, that hasn't changed with 2010. So we don't muddy the waters here, I'll start another thread asking for some suggestions to improve our performance.

Aloha All. This will be a big DUHHH but I just discovered PT will do quotes and sales orders and billing just as well as the "Quotewerks" program that I just bought. (Qwotewerks then says it will integrate with QB or PT, but why not use PT in the first place?) Thus the Duhh!
Anyway here are my requirements.

1: need PT to reside on my terminal server and for up to 3 people to log on from home or a remote site and access and write quotes.
2: At the same time I will want accounting to be able to retrive the quote and convert to a sales order and then an invoice.
3: Of course, I want to be able to limit access to certain areas of PT to certain employees.

I think PT does all that? Then is this an economical and correct version to buy?

thanks Frank

Peachtree 2010 COMPLETE is not licensed and will NOT run under Windows Terminal Services. You will need Peachtree 2010 Premium or higher in order to be used with Windows Terminal Services.

spdas,

Although Peachtree does estimates this is not the primary function of the program. Its primary functions include supporting receivables, payables, purchasing, inventory management, asset management and payroll. It is accounting software that also can do some other tasks. However, QuoteWerks is specifically designed to create quotes, orders, and invoices and act as a compliment to Peachtree.

QuoteWerks is used by companies that do not want to flood their accounting system with quotes or part numbers that may never be turned into orders. Furthermore, QuoteWerks' layouts are more easily edited, can print pictures, and can include spec sheets, cover pages, or other literature documents to the quote, including proposal support.

Follow this linkhttp://www.quotewerks.com/peachfaq.asp to view all the features available in QuoteWerks and how it integrates with Peachtree.
