Company Name Lost

When I open Peachtree, my company name no longer appears. This happened after many .dat file error messages. I did a backup, but now my company name does not appear when I try to open it up. All my files are local- not on a network. Please help!

Please explain in a little more detail...

What screen are you NOT seeing your company name? Is it the yellow screen that shows recently opened companies? If so, try clicking the browse button and see if your company is listed.

Does your company open but just not show a name? If so...check under Maintain Company Information and verify that a name is listed.

Also, I'm sure everyone in this forum can understand your frustration but your user name and location are totally unwarranted.

Thank you for your reply.

The company name does not appear in any window. Also, after selecting the "browse" option and looking in every folder that exists on my local drive, my company name does not appear. In addition to a backup, I also copied the entire "Peachw" folder and stored it locally. When browsing to this copied folder, the company name does not appear there either.

It's my understanding, from Peachtree, the company data is not lost and there is a way to recover. I'm just not finding it. Also, after reading about how to restore company data from the Peachtree text book, I tried creating a "new company." However, this didn't work because the company name cannot be located.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Again, thank you for your reply.

Have you tried reindexing the company.dat file. BACKUP your data first.
