Peachtree losing checks?

I am having what apears to be a strange problem - Peachtree seems to be randomly losing checks I've printed. Version 2002 running on Win2K, any one else ever had this issue?

Are you saying the corresponding journal entries disappear?

How long before this happens?

Are you sure your date is correct?

What happens to that check number?

When I have a problem like this that I can't understand, I turn on the Audit Trail to check and see what's happening.

No real rhyme or reason though it doesn't seem to happen in the currect accounting period. Corresponding entry ie the purchase the check was paying, does not disappear. Check number completely disappears from system. This is a rare occurance but seems to crop up once or twice per year - we have 5 seperate companies, so happening a total of 5+ times per year.
