I have a client that has upgraded to 2003. Very slow network performance on a 2000 server w/ 2000 workstations. Current PAW files looks to be about 160 meg. Can not purge old data due to the fact they look up old information daily. Any thoughts on how to get the speed up or the size of the file down? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Copy the data to a VFP database and write a program to view it.

If you're not game for copying your data to a Visual FoxPro database, here's what I'd do instead:
- Make a second copy of your company. To do this, create a new company in Peachtree, then restore your existing company over it. Rename this company to "PRIOR YEAR REFERENCE ONLY" or something to that effect. This becomes the database that folks use for looking things up from the past.
- Meanwhile, back in the live company, run the purge. You'll then have a leaner company for day to day purposes, but still be able to do research when necessary. You'll just have to toggle between the companies when needed.
Hope this helps!
