Last Cost wrong in Inventory Maintenance

Hi everyone,

I have an interesting/annoying situation, where an item in my inventory shows zero (0.00) cost in the Last Cost field in Inventory Maintenance. I know that it should say 1.06, because I have a valid record of having received 468 units at the correct cost of 1.06.

I noticed that if I receive a single unit of the item (in a fake PO), then my cost is "fixed" in Inventory Maintenance. I suppose I could then do an inventory adjustment of -1.00 to correct my inventory levels, but I suspect this may cause my other numbers to be off by a small percentage, and in any case this is not an elegant solution for the problem.

I was hoping someone here might have an idea, as to why the error occurs and/or how to properly fix it.

I suspect you are on FIFO and maybe the field is mislabeled and should say "Next Unit(to be used) Cost" rather than the last purchase price.

Actually I am on Average costing.

I'm on FIFO and was curious, so I checked an item of mine. It was showing the cost not of the item I last purchased but several purchases ago which hadn't been sold yet.

Since with average cost, the item cost changes each time you make a purchase, you may have a similar thing happening.
