Employee data transfer

Using PCAW2009

I have to transfer 90 employee records from a company ended in 2009 to a new company opened in this year of 2010.

Instead of creating all this employees id, general pay info, withholding info, vacation info/sick time, employee fields and company fields each by each manually, i need your recomendations using any software tool or procedures do complete this work.

I located where there are the EMPLOYEE.DAT databases in each company.

Please help.

If it is Peachtree to Peachtree it is a piece of cake. BACK UP FIRST..

Use the "Select Import/Export" function under "File".

Go into the new company, delete the employee.dat file.

Close that file and open the old company. Export the Employee list. Remember where you put it:)

Open the new Co. it will ask if you want to create an empty Employee file, Yes. Import the file from the old Co.

Well, I may have spoken too soon. The file is too large for Excel 2003. I don't have 2007 on this machine, so I cannot see if it will open properly in 07. I think you still could do it using multiple excel files, and multiple imports, but I have never tried it. Please post if you do it, and it works as I am curious.
