Upgrading from Complete Accounting 2004 to 2007 to 2010?

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and I am hoping I can get some help.

I have been running Complete Accounting 2004 on a windows XP lan network. We recently upgraded computers to a vista operating system and are having some issues running 2004 on Vista.

I have Complete Accounting 2007 (that I never got around to installing), but I have read here that 2007 will still have some issues with Vista. With that in mind, does it make sense to jump right to Complete Accounting 2010?

Also, can I do a direct upgrade to 2010 from 2004, or should I install 2007 then upgrade that to 2010?

Upgrade directly to Peachtree 2010. When you open Peachtree and attempt to open your Company, the program will automatically sense the data base as belonging to Peachtree 2004 and will migrate the data from 2004 to 2010 without any problem. Skip installing Peachtree 2007 and avoid additional headaches.

thanks-2 other questions (since it has been so long since I have done an upgrade).

1. Should I install Complete Accounting 2010 directly over the 2004 version, or should I uninstall 2004 first, then do a clean install of 2010.

2. If the answer to the above is to do a clean install, can I restore my backup of company data from 2004 directly onto the 2010 version after it has been installed? For some reason I thought that might not work.

we had the same problem, and i'm waiting for an immediate response regarding our queries. What is the difference between upgrading the software and purchasing a new one, beacuse i noticed that purchasing new one is cheaper than the other. I'm just confused what to order. And how can i restore back up from Peachtree 2005 to PT 2010?

if you have an option to buy it cheaper new, get it. You can restore a backup from 2005 to 2010 as long as it is a comparable version or a higher version.

I have peachtree 2006 Premium for distributors I am wwanting to upgrade to peachtree 2010 premium for distributors
Can I do as suggested here just restore a backup?
