Upgrading from 2004 to 2010

Hi- I aksed a similar question in a previous post-but I wanted clarification on one thing.

So...I am upgrading from Complete Accounting 2004 directly to 2010 on a Vista lan multi-user network.

Is the best way to do this just to install the 2010 version "on top" of the 2004 version, or do I want to uninstall the 2004 version, then do a clean install of 2010, then restore my 2004 backup of data files and have the program migrate the 2004 backup files to the newer version?

Either way would work, but the cleanest way would be to uninstall 2004 and then reinstall 2010.
