Going from PT 2006 to PT 2009 - I get the following error message.
Peachtree cannot open this company. The most common cause for this error is that an old version of Btrieve is running. For detailed instructions about correcting this problem, please click the Help button below.
Btrieve is a file handler engine used by several communication applications and backup utilities. Peachtree Accounting can sometimes have problems starting while an application using an older version of Btrieve is also running.
First, try closing other applications that might be using Btrieve.
Next, try rebooting your computer and then opening Peachtree before opening any other program. If you still get the error, it is likely that some software is loading on startup that uses Btrieve.
If you're unable to resolve this error, contact Peachtree Support or visit the Peachtree Knowledge Center at www.peachtree.com.
I can't find a solution on knowlwdgebase and it's a pain in the neck to have to reboot when I'm working. When I first installed 2009 someone gave me a solution and it had to do with removing a process in task manager but I can't remember what it was. Anyone know?
