I have some small business friends currently using Classic 13.0.
They have purchased Premium Accounting 2008.
How does one convert the Classic 13.0 files to the Premium Accounting 2008 files. I have zero knowledge about accounting, as I just take care of their office and shop computers.
They were told at first that the conversion was simple, and then later, that there was an intervening version of Peachtree between Clasiic 13.0 and PA 2008, and a conversion was not possible, and the issue was left there, apparently insoluble.
That's probably not true, but they need to get iinformation on how to go about making a conversion. I signed up here to get some suggestions, or direction, as to how this needs to be done.
For example, could I make this conversion with only general computer knowledge? Does it need an accounting expert to make the change? Assuming it requires extra knowledge to make such a change, what would such an approximate cost be?
As it is they have made an investment in a software that is currently unusable, so they need to have an understanding of what additional costs may accrue by getting outside help. It helps in making the decision to scrap the s/w or continue.
Thank you.
Sandy
