We are upgrading from V. 7 to V. 2003.
PT gives error Long Files names not supported on data drive.
Our server with Linux 5.2 does support LFN and so does our client with Win98.
Any ideas on this?

This is a probably a problem with Btrieve rather than Peachtree. The version of Btrieve that is used by Peachtree is V6.15, which has been obsolete for some time. I believe V6.15 may not know about LFN: Notice that when Peachtree creates a new company it always uses an 8-character name for the folder.

Thanks, Robert.
Here is what fixed it:
Copy server data to local directory.
Install upgrade and convert.
Copy Local back to server.
Edit PCW100.INI ON LOCAL FOR CORRECT DATAPATH.
Thanks, again, Oz

Interesting. Thanks for the description of the fix. I'm not really sure why this worked, but glad it did.

I had the a scenario similar to OZ, a Linux server (using SMB to provide a network disk space on a linux system - www.samba.org), wich I got working using Peachtree 2000 rel 8.0. When I upgrade the software to PT 2002 Multi user, rel 9.0, I got this same error that OZ is specifying.
Did some got a solutions for this one, I´m now losing file and always I have to restore data from my backup, wich on rel.8.0 I never got any error.
Thanks.
TB.
