Hello:
I'm using Win 2000 Pro, PT Accounting 2002 plus PT (ACT) Contact Manager (v.5).
When I hit the "Accounting" tab at the bottom of the Contact Manager screen, all of the various data catagories from PT Accounting 2002 pop up for that contact, but with zeros and a message reading "This Contact Not Linked".
I have run the synchronization routine to connect PTA 2002 and the Contact Manager but can't get it to work. The manual and seaches at PT web site have proved fruitless.
Do you know the solution? Specifics would be greatly appreciated.

You're one of the few users to try Peachtree Contact Manager. I don't think anyone that's posted a question here has gotten an answer. You might still get a response, but I thought I'd share this background with you. You may need to contact Peachtree Software directly.
Good luck!

David:
I've checked out their web site as far as a non-fee search will take me. No luck. Their manual is fairly skimpy too. I don't want to spend additional hard earned money on PT paid support for a program that doens't appear to intergrate well with PTA 2002.
So far, I find it kind of clunky to use and not well documented. I regret buying the software, but I haven't given up yet. One short coming in my opinion is that Vendor contacts from their accounting program don't sync with the PT Contact Manger. My contacts, as with millions of other businesses, involve vendors as well as customers. PT doesn't appear to think so. Intergration with Outlook XP doesn't appear to be bug free either.

There is a new product on the market called PeachTrac. Check out http://www.datica.com/peachtrac.htm for more information.
I've taken a look at it and it seems to do a pretty nice job and is tightly integrated with Peachtree.

I am evaluating PTA Contact Mgr and PeachTrac and would like to know if you have used PeachTrac, or have changed your opinion over time. If you are using it, how is the support?

No I haven't used it. Also, I gave up on PT Contact Manager a couple of months ago, at least until I have more time to try and get it to integrate with PTA.

I am trying to reduce the times I have to enter a contact. I use Outlook and PTA. If I add PT Act or Peachtrac does that just become one more place to enter contacts or is there real integration?

As I mentioned above, I didn't have much luck synchronizing PTA and PT ACT. Plus, their ACT doesn't sync vendor names in PTA with their version of ACT, only customers, and even that feature didn't work for me.
PT free support for the product is only 30 days, then they try to sell you expensive in-house support. Hardly enough time to get to know the program. The ACT program is new to PT so their free knowledge base info is skimpy at this point. The manual is a lightweight too, and I haven't found any independent books on the subject.
In addition, their version of ACT is now one version old. ACT has been upgraded by the database vendor but PT is still selling the older version for a full price. I reget buying the software.
