Access Denied for file

When saving an Account Reconciliation, I keep getting the following error message:
"Access Denied for file. '.....bankrec.dat'. You only have read access to this file, no updates allowed.

I've tried to copy and paste an old bankrec.dat file from a backup - no luck

I've tried to rename the userpref.dat file to userpref.old and let the program create a new userpref.dat file - no luck.

Please help!!!

Use Peachtree HELP file for information on steps required to setup the INTEGRITY Checks.

Setup the Peachtree Integrity Checks and then re-index the BankRec file.

Be sure to create a current backup prior to running this process.
