Ok,

I know I'm new here! Sorry for all the questions. I know there is a COM based product that allows you to integrate to other applications that use that interface. I was wondering if it is possible to integrate Peachtree via webservices/XML? If not, is it something that Peachtree is considering doing in the future?

Thanks in Advance!

There is a COM based product called PawCOM. You can learn more at www.acctadv.com/pawcom. If you have specific questions about PawCOM, Robert Walraven, the architect of PawCOM posts here frequently.

Thank you very much for the information. I was wondering if Peachtree was planning on using XML and Web Services instead of the COM interface?

Considering that the underlying database for Peachtree is Btrieve 6.15, which I understand is obsolete, I wouldn't count on any cutting edge technology any time soon. Let's hope I'm proven wrong, though.

PawCom is not produced by Peachtree - it is a third-party add-on to open up the Peachtree data. If you are sufficiently familiar with Visual Studio.NET you can certainly use it in conjunction with PawCom to implement an XML interface or Web Services. However, I am not aware of anyone who has done this to date.

It is my understanding that Peachtree R&D has been working on porting the product over to Pervasive SQL. No timetables have been given and no details are available at this time.

I would assume though, that a development such as this would increase the cost of the product, so who knows what will happen.
